A quick & Easy snack
Ingredients
7-8 slices of bread
2 tbsp. grated coconut
1 tbsp. chopped green chilies
1/4 tsp. chopped ginger
1 cup thick yogurt
1/2 tsp. Chili powder
1/2 tsp. Amchur (mango powder) powder
A few mustard seeds and curry leaves
Oil for shallow frying
Salt according to taste
Serve with
Tomato sauce or hot chili sauce
Method
1. Remove the edges of the bread slices, cut each into 4 squares.
2. Mix together the yogurt, chopped green chilies, ginger and salt.
Apply this mixture on each square. Join two squares to form a tiny sandwich.
3.Heat oil in a frying pan, add the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
4.When they splutter, place the sandwiches in pan and fry on both sides. Serve hot .

Medu Vada
Doughnut shaped savouries of blackgram
Ingredients
1 cup urad (moong dal washed) dal
1 tsp. Crushed black peppercorn
1/4 cup Asafetida
1 tsp. Cumin seeds
A handful of chopped coriander leaves
Oil for deep frying
Salt according to taste
Serve with
Serve hot with Sambar and Coconut chutney.
Method
1. Wash and soak urad dal for 6 hours.
2. Grind into a fine paste and add salt, asafetida, coriander leaves,
cumin seeds and crushed peppercorns to the batter and mix well.
3. Heat oil in a Kadhai.
4.Wet your palms and take batter into the palms. Shape into a ball and
make a hole in the center like a doughnut. This is now called a vada.
5.Deep fry the vadas in medium hot oil until golden brown and crisp.

Bread Poha
A tasty breakfast dish made of bread slices
Ingredients
3 nos. Bread slices
1 chopped Green chilies
1 chopped Onion
1 chopped Tomato
2 tbsp. Peas
1 tsp. Mustard seeds
1 sprig. Curry leaves
1/2 tsp. Lemon juice
3 tbsp. Oil
Salt and red chilies according to taste
Advice
If you wish add 1/2 chopped boiled potato also.
Method
1. Put oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds and curry leaveS,
2. Now add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, peas, and
onion to the frying pan and fry well.
3. When cooked add 1/2 cups of water and salt to taste and bring to a boil.
4. Cut the bread into cubes and add to the mixture only then
when the whole water evaporates.
5. Add the lemon juice and stir. Mix well and serve hot.

Vegetable Pakora
Fresh Veggies dipped in gram flour paste and deep fried
Ingredients
2 cups of vegetables, cut into large pieces
1 cup Gram Flour (besan)
1/4 cup water
2 tsp. red chili powder
1 tsp. cumin seeds
A pinch of hing (asoefetida)
Salt according to taste
Oil for deep frying
Serve with
Eatwith tomato ketchup.
Method
